The collision occurred at the Salt Lake County Flight Park North at 15300 S Steep Mountain Dr. in Draper. I-15 drivers in the area often see hang gliders and paragliders there.
Three people were involved in the accident. The hang glider had one pilot, and the paraglider had a pilot and a passenger.

At first, it was believed the pilot of the hang glider was treated and released at the scene with no injuries. However, the pilot was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries.
