Police looking for driver of fatal hit-and-run on Redwood Road

SALT LAKE CITY — A man was killed after a vehicle hit him near 1130 S. Redwood Road Friday night.
Salt Lake City Police Department said the crash happened around 11 p.m. when they received a call about an adult man with critical injuries lying on the ground. They said by the time first responders came to the scene, the man had died.
Detectives believe the man was walking on the road when a vehicle traveling south on Redwood Road hit him and did not stop.
The identity of the driver and the vehicle they were driving is unknown, though the vehicle likely has front-end damage. Police are urging the driver to turn themselves in immediately.
Police said this is the 18th traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City this year.
