ST. GEORGE, Utah — Two 4-year-old and 9-year-old brothers are dead after a crash in St. George Sunday night.

In a press release, the St. George Police Department said the two boys were in a car that crashed into a power pole on Dixie Drive. Their 36-year-old dad was driving the car at the time and is in the ICU.

Police said the family’s car was going southbound down Dixie Drive but veered into oncoming traffic before running into the pole.

Witnesses to the crash broke the car’s windows to get the two boys out. They were taken to the hospital but later died from their injuries.

Police said they’re still investigating the crash but think speed and impairment were major factors.
