SLCPD investigates rollover crash, gives reminder to practice safe driving

SALT LAKE CITY — An investigation is underway after the driver of an SUV lost control of his vehicle traveling at high speeds on Thursday.
The Salt Lake City Police Department said in a release the investigation started around 11:00 p.m. Thursday when the 30-year-old driver crashed into two parked cars and rolled his SUV.
The crash happened near 1500 South 800 East in Salt Lake City.
The man was transported by paramedics to a local hospital after being rescued by the Salt Lake City Fire Department.
He remains at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
In light of this accident, the police department wants to remind the community to practice safe driving.
The SLCPD said to always wear your seatbelt when operating a vehicle and obey the speed limit. Also, eliminate distractions when driving, such as eating or using your cell phone.
The investigation is ongoing and the total damage amount is being calculated.
