SALT LAKE CITY — According to KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson, northern Utah will see a brief respite from snow accumulation in the valleys along the Wasatch Front.
However, temperatures will remain cold.
“This afternoon’s high, 29, [is] still cold,” said Johnson.
The frosty Utah weather has brought slick road conditions. Cold temperatures are helping the leftover snow from yesterday’s storm remain on roadways.
‘There [are] still some spots that we could see some black ice, maybe some lingering slush,” Johnson said.
During winter driving conditions, the Utah Highway Patrol’s website reminds drivers to slow down and increase their following distance.
According to National Weather Service Meteorologist Sam Webber, some light, scattered showers could happen this afternoon or evening. Very little or no accumulation is expected, however.
Is more snowy Utah weather on the way?
According to National Weather Service Meteorologist Sam Webber, the mountains have received non-stop snow.
“Some areas in the northern Utah mountains … haven’t really stopped seeing snow since earlier this week. [They] potentially might not stop seeing snow until early next week,” said Webber.
The mountains could receive two to six inches of snow today. The mountain snow forecast looks similar tomorrow.
According to Webber, a snowstorm is in the forecast for Saturday. It could bring 4 to 10 inches to the valleys and up to three feet in the mountains.
