UPD officer involved with autoped with seven-year-old girl

MAGNA, Utah — A Unified Police Department Officer hit a seven-year-old girl while driving their car Friday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Aymee Race with UPD, the officer was driving westbound on Magna Main St. when the seven-year-old girl ran into the road.
The bumper of the car hit the girl, according to Race. The girl was then taken to Primary Children’s Hospital with road rash and swelling on her cheek and eye.
The Officer was driving their trooper car and was headed to the precinct during the time of the incident.
West Valley City Police Department will investigate.
