No loss of life after Utah National Guard Apache helicopter crash in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah — The Utah National Guard confirms there has been no loss of life after an Apache helicopter crash Monday in West Jordan.

Officials said that the two pilots aboard the helicopter were in stable condition after the crash, and had been transported to a hospital.
Utah National Guard confirms that one of its AH-64D Apache Longbow Helicopters was involved in a training accident at approximately 1:20 p.m. The helicopter accident occurred at the West Jordan Army Aviation Support Facility. Fire and police departments are on scene.

The helicopter was involved in a training exercise at the time of the crash, which happened at 6874 S Center St in West Jordan.
According to Lt. Col. Chris Kroeber, the helicopter had been hovering in the area before it went down. Additionally, one of the pilots was a highly experienced pilot.
“One of the pilots was a senior instructor pilot, so that’s routine for this type of training mission,” said Kroeber.
According to a post on X from the Utah National Guard, a team from the Army Combat Readiness Center will investigate the crash.
