SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Police Department found missing Tooele woman Karen Crawford dead on Tuesday night.
“It is with great sadness that we report that Mrs. Crawford was found deceased,” read the press release, which was issued by Tooele Police Department.
Salt Lake City police discovered the black Mazda CX-5 belonging to Crawford at around 10:15 p.m., according to the press release from Tooele Police Department.
“Our hearts are with Ms. Crawford’s family and loved ones at this time as they navigate this time of grieving,” said the Tooele Police Department in the press release.
Missing mother of two
Crawford, a mother of two, was last seen on Feb. 15 near Fashion Place Mall in Murray. The missing Tooele woman had made a purchase before disappearing.
Christy Johnson, Crawford’s sister, previously told KSL TV that there was “no activity on her card, no communications, we don’t know if her phone is off or dead.”
Johnson also said that Crawford had been struggling with her mental health before her disappearance. However, she had been receiving help and taking medication.
An investigation is active at this time, however, foul play is not believed to be a factor.
