Wrong-way driver crash results in one death

SALT LAKE CITY — One person has been reported to have died of fatal injuries after a wrong-way driving accident occurred on Sunday morning.
The accident occurred when the driver of a red Camry crashed into the driver of a red Impala, according to Trooper Silva with Utah Highway Patrol.
Silva said the driver of the red Impala was driving on NB Legacy 500 south at mile marker 3 when they were struck by the wrong-way driver.
Silva said both drivers were taken to the hospital. There was a passenger in the red Impala, Silva said that passenger had fatal injuries.
Silva said the accident is still under investigation and the wrong-way driver is suspected of being under the influence.
NB Legacy was closed until about 11 a.m., that area has now re-opened.
