NHL welcome party on the plaza
The Delta Center said it would host activities on the plaza in front of the arena Wednesday at 4 p.m.
According to the NHL in Utah website, activities include street hockey and live music.
At 4:30, doors will open and the arena said more activities would be waiting inside. Delta Center officials also said they would give the first 5,000 people who walk in a voucher for a 2024-25 preseason NHL or Utah Jazz game at the arena. The voucher will be redeemable for two seats at a qualifying game.

At 5:30, attendees will hear from team owner Ryan Smith and Head Coach André Tourigny and get an introduction to the players.
The arena said the event is free and seating is first-come, first-served.
Traffic impacts
The Salt Lake City Police Department said there aren’t any road closures planned for the event. But, the department advised that the event would likely cause traffic delays.
According to a press release from the SLCPD, officers don’t know how many people will attend but they expect a increased pedestrian traffic in the area.
The SLCPD encourages attendees to use public transit, carpool or use a ridesharing app to get to the arena.
The department will have officers outside the Delta Center to help with pedestrian crossing and traffic congestion if needed.
