Man dies in industrial accident at Bluffdale concrete plant

BLUFFDALE, Utah — Fire crews in Bluffdale said a man trapped under concrete slabs at a concrete supplier has died.
The accident happened on Thursday at Olympic Precast in Bluffdale.
Bluffdale Fire Chief Matt Evans said they were called about an industrial accident around 12:45 p.m.
“Some big cement slabs had fallen on a victim,” Evans said. “And at that time, we determined that he was deceased.”
Evans said that an investigation has begun and should provide more information.
By Thursday afternoon, family members of the victim were on the scene. Officials say they don’t yet know how the accident happened.
