Strong winds headed to Utah, namely, along Wasatch front

SALT LAKE CITY— Northern Utah is getting a break from the rain and snow, however strong winds are expected to take their place.
KSL Meteorologist Kevin Eubank said winds coming from the east will start picking up in Utah on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The strongest winds are expected Thursday morning and Friday morning.
According to Eubank, wind gusts could reach 45- to 65 miles per hour during those times. The strongest winds should be concentrated between North Salt Lake and Ogden. Areas between Centerville and Layton could be hardest hit.

People in northern Utah are encouraged to bring in trash barrels and secure outdoor furniture during peak winds.
According to the National Weather Service, Utah could see downslope winds with gusts in excess of 45 mph are expected Thursday into Friday night.

Eubank said the strong winds are expected to die down by Saturday. Then, temperatures are expected to break back into the 70s again. Mother’s Day looks warm and dry with a high temperature of 76 degrees.
