TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A man drowned while swimming with his two children in Taylorsville Sunday afternoon.
Sgt. Corey Lavin with the Taylorsville Police Department said officers received a report of a drowning at 5:07 p.m. Police said the call came from a tenant of the apartment building. The tenant reportedly walked into the building’s pool area and found the body of a 35-year-old man under the water.
The man was swimming with his two small children. There were no other people around the pool area, according to police.
Upon their arrival, officers pulled the man from the pool and attempted life-saving measures until EMS arrived. EMS also attempted life-saving measures, however, this was unsuccessful.
Police say the man’s children were unharmed and are now with family members.
At this time, police say nothing suspicious happened, and the drowning seems to be an accident. However, the incident is still under investigation.
