Police reopen area near 3600 South in South Salt Lake after SWAT situation

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — Multiple people have been taken into custody following an incident involving police and a SWAT team in South Salt Lake. Police reopened the area around 3600 South and 300 East after keeping it closed and telling residents to stay indoors for several hours Monday morning.
The South Salt Lake Police Department shared on its Facebook account that there was a “large gathering” early Monday involving shots fired.
A Facebook post from the South Salt Lake Police Department said some officers may still be in the area while they continue investigating. No other details about the incident have been released.
