Hogle Zoo announces name of baby gorilla

SALT LAKE CITY — The Hogle Zoo has officially announced the name of the newest baby gorilla in their gorilla troop.
Addo was born two weeks ago and has been observed by the zoo’s team as having a very strong nature.
The Hogle Zoo said the name Addo, pronounced (ah-doh) is from the African Ga language of Ghana, and means “King of the Road.”
Mom and baby are reported to be doing well.

Addo is a western lowland gorilla, a critically endangered species. His birth comes with a lot of hope for the future of the species.
The Zoo said there are two good times visitors can see the gorilla troop and baby gorilla. One is at 9 a.m., the other time is around snack time at 11:15 a.m.
