SALT LAKE CITY — On Wednesday the U.S. Supreme Court admitted that a document was posted online, and then removed, which dealt with a pending abortion case in Idaho.
A Supreme Court spokeswoman confirmed that the article was posted by mistake, according to NBC News.
The document raises the question of whether a high court ruling is pending that will allow emergency abortions in Idaho.
Currently, most abortion procedures are banned in Idaho. According to the Harvard Gazette, Idaho prohibits abortion unless a pregnancy is ectopic, the pregnancy resulted from rape or incest, of the life of the mother is threatened by the pregnancy.
KSL NewsRadio spoke with KSL legal analyst Greg Skordas about where Idaho’s abortion law stands now, and what could change in that state, depending on the court’s eventual ruling.
