WASHINTON — The U.S. Supreme Court placed a hold on two laws that aim to limit how Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms can regulate posts.
According to the Associated Press, the SCOTUS has returned these cases to lower courts. The AP states that both laws are meant to “address conservative complaints that the social media companies were liberal-leaning” and often censor conservative and right-wing opinions and viewpoints.
At this time, social media companies can still lawfully moderate or censor users.
