19-year-old died on Thursday after motorcycle crash in Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel

SPRINGDALE, Utah — A 19-year-old man died on Thursday after being involved in a motorcycle crash in the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel at Zion National Park.
Zion National Park said in a press release that there were reports made in the evening about a “single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.”
CPR and immediate medical support were provided to the motorcyclist by Hurricane Valley Fire District emergency and National Park Service staff, according to the press release.
The press release said that the man was pronounced dead after the attempts of resuscitation were given.
“All of us at Zion National Park extend our sympathy to the deceased’s family for their tragic loss,” Acting Superintendent Bry Carter stated in the press release.
Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel was closed during the incident but now it is open for drivers.
The National Park Service, Utah Highway Patrol, and Utah Office of the Medical Examiner continue investigating the incident.
