Crash on State street left pedestrian with life-threatening injuries

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Police are investigating a crash at 1800 south State street that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
SLCPD confirmed a truck hit an adult pedestrian, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police first found the man at 3:43 p.m. lying unconscious in the road.
After initial investigation, officers believe the man was crossing the road against the flow of traffic when he was hit by the truck.
The driver of the truck has been cooperative, SLCPD said.
As of around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, northbound traffic on State Street from 1900 South to Coatsville Avenue is closed.

Paramedics took the pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the severe injuries sustained by the pedestrian, SLCPD has requested the help of a specialist team to investigate the crash.
