Overnight Pleasant Grove housefire kills two people

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah — One man and one woman are dead after an overnight housefire in Pleasant Grove early Wednesday morning.
According to the Pleasant Grove Fire Department Fire Chief Andrew Engemann, the blaze occurred at approximately 614 E. 100 N. at 1:55 a.m.
Engemann said the fire was on a back porch area. There was a bedroom next to this area that was also on fire.
During firefighters’ initial search of the scene, they found a disabled man inside the home. Engemann said firefighters performed life-saving measures on him, however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters’ also found one woman. She was transported to an area hospital in serious condition. However, the Pleasant Grove Fire Department has since confirmed she’s died.
According to PGFD, they were a mother and son. They have been identified as Rosemary Pendley and Jesse Pendley.
No firefighters were injured during the fire.
Along with the Pleasant Grove Fire Department, Lone Peak Fire, Orem Fire and American Fork Fire all responded.
The fire is currently under investigation.
