HOLLADAY, Utah — Two people suspected of robbery were arrested after a police pursuit Wednesday afternoon.
Sgt. Aymee Race with Unified Police said officers responded to a domestic incident near 1050 East on South Union Avenue. They discovered that it was an aggravated robbery. A gunshot victim, shot in the arm, was at the scene.
Police found the suspect’s car and began a pursuit, where the suspect drove into oncoming traffic multiple times. Officers had to suspend the pursuit multiple times for public safety.
The chase was back on when the suspect entered Interstate 215 driving the wrong direction. Race says police called in a Department of Public Safety helicopter to help in the pursuit.
The vehicle was then found in Murray, where police resumed the chase.
Police deployed spike stripes on the suspect’s car, stopping it on Van Winkle Expressway, Race said. Both the driver and passenger were in the vehicle. The passenger surrendered peacefully, but the driver fled on foot. The driver was apprehended in a nearby garage.
Police say the driver was 26-year-old Maxwell Archibald. Police didn’t name the passenger.
