SALT LAKE CITY — The National Weather Service issued some severe weather warnings for several areas in Utah Sunday evening.

Careful on the roads Sunday evening – the NWS has weather warnings out for Salt Lake County and now one for areas between NSL and Roy/Weber Co. pic.twitter.com/9yuc8RXzH8

Severe thunderstorms were expected in:

Salt Lake City
Layton
Bountiful
West Valley City
West Jordan

Strong winds as high as 55 miles per hour were expected in:

Ogden
Layton
Roy
Salt Lake City
West Valley City
West Jordan
