RIVERTON, Utah — Owners of a Riverton restaurant, Salsa Leedos, are leading a community effort to send truckloads of supplies to those affected by Hurricane Milton.
The Bonino family considers Florida their second home and found themselves in the path of Hurricane Helene. While Dad has been busy picking up the pieces in Florida, the family was inspired to rally their family back in Utah at the Riverton restaurant, Salsa Leedos.
They came through by collecting two semi-truck trailers full of supplies. The use of the trucks was also a donation.
“It’s so cool just to see how the community can come together just by a post going viral. And, it means a lot … They know we have a place there and just everybody just wants to help out,” said mom and store owner, Teri Bonino.

Her son, Cayden Bonino who manages the restaurant says they’re eager to get the needed supplies to Florida.
“These people a lot of the people in the area are going to lose everything that they own, a lot of them already have from the previous hurricane,” said Cayden.
He hopes to start the drive to Florida by the weekend to help those dealing with the second hurricane to hit the state in a matter of weeks.
“If you have a tree that fell on your house, we were collecting chainsaws… We have collected generators for people that may not have power for weeks at a time,” he said.
The Bonino’s home away from home in Treasure Island, Florida was ravaged by Helene. However, their focus is on helping others in need.
“We just hold Treasure Island as a dear place in our hearts,” Cayden said. “We have family that live there lots of friends that live there. It’s a very special place to us.”
