Early voting in Utah off to strong start

SALT LAKE CITY — There is just a week until the election, and early Utah voters have already cast over 400,00 votes. The vast majority of those votes made by mail-in ballots.
Voters have cast nearly one-third of Utah’s total votes cast in the 2020 election.

A week before the election, nearly 1/4 of ballots have been processed. Many more have been returned but not processed yet.

Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson says this puts our voter turnout at over 20%. With some county leaders expecting a majority turnout by next Tuesday.
According to the NBC News website Republicans make up the majority of Utah’s early votes so far at 52%.
No matter who wins, Henderson said she hopes everyone will peacefully accept the results.
“We have to be able to live with each other no matter what those results are,” she told an audience at Utah Valley University on Monday.
Mail-in ballots must be postmarked no later than the day before the election to count. Additionally, voters can see where to vote in person, track their ballot and learn about candidates and issues by visiting vote.utah.gov.
