KAYSVILLE, Utah — More details have come in about the events leading up to a SWAT incident in Kaysville Thursday night.
The domestic violence standoff in Kaysville ended when the suspect was taken into custody.
The suspect, 38-year-old David Nunez, is the ex-husband of the woman who lived in the house. She told police that her husband was deported back to Peru after domestic violence charges last year. But he allegedly re-entered the country illegally.
The victim said he walked into her and her children’s home last Saturday and has been there ever since. She claimed Nunez was forcing her and the children to take photos together as a family and telling everyone they’re back together.
The victim also said he allowed the family to return to normal life but was holding one child captive at all times to prevent anyone from going to the cops.
Nunez is now in custody being held for more than a half dozen offenses, including kidnapping and domestic violence.
