Crowd cheers President Trump’s SLC arrival

SALT LAKE CITY — A crowd of Utahns cheered as Air Force One landed at the Utah Air National Guard base, heralding the arrival of President Donald Trump.
“I don’t care who the President is,” said Charlie Lowsma, who was in the crowd. “I just got to shake hands with the President and thought it was really neat.”
16-year-old twins Trevor and Tristen Tharp were dressed as the President and Vice-President and were rewarded with handshakes as well.
“We thought we’d only get a wave, but he said, ‘I have to see these guys,'” they said.
Even though temperatures were in the low 30s as the plane landed, Mr. Trump took time to shake hands and speak with many in the crowd, flanked by Sens. Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, R-Utah, who had accompanied him on the flight.
Gov. Gary Herbert, R-Utah, and other local dignitaries greeted the President as he deplaned.
