OREM — If hiking up more than 4,500 feet over 15 miles on a Tuesday morning, while talking about important climate issues with your Congressman is your thing, then Rep. John Curtis thinks the ‘hiking town hall’ is right up your alley.

Curtis is inviting all his constituents willing to make the trek up Mt. Timpanogos to talk about the environment and answer questions in ways that resonate with Utahns.

“We hope to have a lot of fun, while at the same time have a meaningful conversation about the environment,” says Curtis.

David Folland with the Citizens’ Climate Lobby’s Salt Lake Chapter plans to hike Timp with Curtis and is impressed with the congressman’s outreach.

“He’s offering nine hours to be with as many people as want to hike with him,” says Folland.

Folland hopes to talk policy with Curtis and find a bipartisan way to move toward clean energy while on the hike.

Curtis says he wants to have a positive dialogue and not villainize any particular group – he just wants to do the right thing for Utah.

We want to hear from you.
