Pumpkin patch forced to close early by vandals

WEST JORDAN — A family pumpkin patch has had to close for the season, much earlier than normal, because vandals destroyed their pumpkins and decorations.
The owners of Rojas Farms says the vandals did about $2,400 in damage at the pumpkin patch, near 3000 W. and 7800 S. Photos posted to Facebook show dozens if not hundreds of broken and smashed pumpkins, scarecrow decorations snapped in half, a huge spider feature crumpled, and scattered corn stalks and hay bales.
“It’s very sad because we usually stay open ’til Halloween. The last few days are big selling days because everyone goes last minute. It’s really affecting us,” they said.
If you know who is responsible, you’re asked to contact police. The owners are hoping the nearby Macey’s grocery store was able to capture something on surveillance video that may help.
