SALT LAKE CITY — Crews rescued an injured solo hiker who fell and potentially broke his arm on the Mount Olympus Trail Monday.

Deputies said Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue received a call at 12:11 p.m. to assist an injured solo hiker. The man said he had taken a fall on the Mount Olympus Trail and had possibly broken his arm.

Unified Fire was the first on the scene and was able to send a few members up the mountain trail.

Search and Rescue arrived shortly after and also sent several of their members up the mountain to help.

The injured solo hiker was found about 1.6 miles up the trail where rescue workers assessed his injury. They were able to immobilize his arm and walk the patient off the mountain safely.

All of the teams reported that they got off the mountain just before 2 p.m.
