SALT LAKE CITY — Parents looking to make their way to the ballot box Nov. 3 will have help in the form of free childcare. The Armed Forces YMCA announced it would partner with Care.com to provide free childcare throughout the country on Election Day, including at two locations in Salt Lake City.

“The men and women of the military literally swear an oath to the constitution and voting is a key right enshrouded in that document,” the YMCA wrote on its website. “As a core part of our mission, we believe that access to child care should never prevent a parent from seeking employment, health care or in this case, participating in our National election.”

Childcare options are open for all parents — not just military personnel — looking to cast their vote. Locations will operate on a first-come, first-served basis through online reservations.

Salt Lake parents can find this free childcare on Election Day at the following locations:

  • YMCA Community Family Center in Taylorsville
  • Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation YMCA Community Family Center in Ogden
