Rachael Tanner, Monroe Elementary

“Mrs. Tanner is an astounding teacher who goes above and beyond to teach and support her students. At the beginning of this year I was one of the few parents in my district who chose to continue at home learning instead of in person instruction. Mrs. Tanner was %100 supportive. Not only did she teach her regular in-person class with all of the time and effort that that entails, she also took the time to make me packets every two weeks that included all of the assignments my son needed to keep up with his class. She included him on field trips. She sent him a birthday gift from the other students. She communicated with me so that she would know when to send my son prizes. Anytime I had questions about the assignments or concepts I always knew that I could count on her to respond to my texts or calls. She took on a job beyond her full-time job and I am so grateful to her. My son has done very well in school this year, which is difficult for an at home learner to achieve, and it is all thanks to the extra efforts of this wonderful teacher who went out of her way to make him feel like a part of the class.”
