With a bullet-proof beer koozie in hand, music superstar Austin Post, better known as Post Malone is again touting his love for Utah.

Joining comedian and star of MTV’s Jackass, Steve-O, and his team in their mobile podcast studio in a parking lot somewhere in Utah, it didn’t take long for the conversation to turn to Post’s recent move to Utah.  (The podcast linked above contains language that some may find objectionable. Viewer discretion is advised.)

The conversation about the Beehive state started with the hosts complementing Post’s good-natured humor and genuine niceness.

“So we’re in Utah, and we came out to see you,” co-host Scott Randolph started out saying.

“Most EPIC trip ever, the most epic trip ever, and just what a bro you are. We knew you were the nicest guy ever,” Steve-O continued saying that Malone has lived up to the hype.

Randolph jokingly asked if Post had always been nice and polite. Or, had it grown with his fame?

“I’ve met a lot of d—heads in, my life and I try not to be one of them. I always say, the golden rule is always, don’t be a d—head,” Post replied.

Then the conversation turned to how each of the stars deals with the fame and notoriety they’ve attained. And how difficult things can be in Los Angeles.

Post, who will turn 26 this year, is originally from Texas. He said he fell in love with Utah while playing a show at Saltair a few years ago.

“I did a show here and there was supposed to be, it’s like right on the Salt Lake. And there’s supposed to be like 5,000 people, and then like 17,000 people showed up. It was awesome. I was like, f— it. I’m I’m trying to get out of LA and I found the perfect place to do it.”

Post said his move to California after high school to pursue a music career wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

The singer told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in an interview that people in LA, “want to be somebody and they will use every piece, last piece of you to better themselves and not think of anybody else.”

He hasn’t seen that in Utah, he said.

What are Utah fans like?

Currently, Post owns a 12,703 sq. ft. home that sits on nearly seven acres in Cottonwood Heights that has been prepped to withstand the apocalypse.

Are fans better or worse when they approach him now?

“It’s different here than in Hollywood where there’s famous people everywhere. You know what I mean? But I don’t know some people. I mean, people have been sweet everywhere, but I feel like people are, I guess, maybe more scared to take a photo and come up and say something here,” Post said.

He added in LA some people will just have their phones out and film him across a room or walk up and take pictures, but in Utah people have been more polite, or have just left him alone.

Post also invited the two to come and join him here in the Beehive state, saying that he has a few acres of land he’s purchased out of town.
