AMBER ALERT CANCELED: Child found safe

WEST JORDAN, Utah — The child who was the subject of an early Friday Amber Alert has been found.  An Amber Alert notification of a child abduction was issued early Friday morning. The West Jordan Police Department was notified about 8:00 p.m., Thursday night.

Police identified the suspect as Yorbalinda Vargas, the infant’s mother.  The victim is identified by police as Nora Nelson.

Police told KSL TV 5 it seems Vargas was having an unsupervised visit with Nora Nelson. The visit was supposed to be supervised when she got Nora into the car and drove off. Authorities explained Vargas made some statements in the past that causes concern for the child’s safety.
