Air quality still poor around Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Nearly all of Utah experienced unhealthy air quality on Saturday.
And that poor air quality will likely be around for at least another few days.
According to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) website, many counties around the state saw conditions that hovered around red, or dangerous, air quality.
Starting Sunday, many counties, including Davis, Salt Lake and Utah counties, will move from the red to orange. The orange category is still considered to be unhealthy for sensitive groups.
The website says its all right to be active outside during an orange air quality day. However, for individuals considered to be in a sensitive group, be sure to take more breaks and do less intense activities. The website also says to watch for symptoms such as shortness of breath and coughing.
On Monday, Iron, Carbon and Washington counties will have a moderate (yellow) air quality day. A moderate air quality day is considered to be a great day to be outside for the majority of people.
For the unusually sensitive, the DEQ website suggests to cut back on outdoor exertion and to watch for symptoms.
