OGDEN — There is a three-day event in Weber County to commemorate 20 years since the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

Weber Remembers

The “Weber Remembers” event will feature an interactive 9/11 exhibit, live music, ceremonies, and a salute to those who lost their lives 20 years ago. It is a combined effort of the 9/11 Project and Major Brent Taylor Foundation.

Friday, Sept. 9 & 10

The 9/11 exhibit, featuring an immersive museum, will be free to the public at the Weber County Fairgrounds from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

There will be a spread of community service exhibitors and attendees can tour the “Touch a Truck” parking lot exhibit while enjoying live music.

The exhibit will be closed to the public for field trips both days from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 11

The day marking two decades since the United States was attacked will start with sunrise fire memorial ceremonies at three fire stations in Weber County.

They will be held at the Roy Fire Station No. 31, Riverdale Fire Station No. 41, and Weber Fire Station No. 61 in Farr West.

The ceremonies will start simultaneously at 6:46 a.m., the local time when the first hijacked airplane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11.

The 9/11 exhibit will be open to the public at the Weber County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Motorcyclists are invited on a ride from Salt Lake City to the Ogden Amphitheater.

There will be a noon firefighter memorial ceremony at America’s Fallen Firefighter Memorial Park near the amphitheater.

More information can be found at www.majorbrenttaylor.com

Jeff Caplan’s Afternoon News on KSL Newsradio will broadcast live from “Weber Remembers” from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
