Man arrested after overnight car chase in Taylorsville

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Taylorsville police officers arrested a man after an overnight car chase when they discovered the car he was driving was stolen.

The chase began early Friday morning, around 12:23 a.m., after officers found a car they were following was stolen.  Taylorsville police said the suspect tried to flee, and continued fleeing even after the vehicle tires were spiked twice. Officers followed the vehicle at slow speeds through a neighborhood before the man was stopped by another officer and taken into custody. 

“We ended up using the pit technique to stop the vehicle, and took the driver into custody,” said Sergeant Amanda Marriott with Taylorsville police.  

Taylorsville police reported that the suspect is a male in his twenties.
