SALT LAKE CITY — Festival of Trees returns with the focus of supporting children’s health. The annual holiday event will  run for five days, and will help patients at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital.

Festival of Trees returns but virtually

A press release explained the event will be held virtually this year.

Jennifer Toomer-Cook, Media Relations Manager for Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital and Intermountain Foundation said, “to prioritize health and safety, this treasured Utah holiday event will take place virtually Tuesday, November 30, through Saturday, December 4, at FestivalofTreesUtah.org.

Bidding for items will be done at the Festival of Trees Utah link.

Toomer-Cook adds people will be able to show their support several different ways.  “Volunteers donated more than 350 beautifully decorated, themed trees, twinkling with thousands of lights for the silent auction, which ends December 2.”

One-of-a-kind gifts and goodies, wreaths, quilts, playhouses, gingerbread houses, nativities, centerpieces and collectibles are available for bid at the silent auction.

Young patients need your support

“This year, patients and families receiving services at Primary Children’s Hospital need your support more than ever,” said Katy Welkie, CEO of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital and vice president of Intermountain Children’s Health. “We ask that the community take the opportunity to participate in Festival of Trees at FestivalofTreesUtah.org, and give generously to help children at Primary Children’s Hospital and children’s health throughout our state and region.”

“Last year, the Festival of Trees raised $1.2 million to support patient care at Primary Children’s Hospital,” explains Toomer-Cook. “Organizers hope to meet or exceed that amount this year with the help of a generous community.”

Festival of Trees has a volunteer board of 80 people who work with families, organizations and businesses in Utah and other states.
