“Jason is a very caring and kind teacher. He is genuinely concerned about each and every student. He comes in early for math and reading lessons and stays late to ensure student success. He has the respect of parents, his colleagues, and most importantly, his students. Jason is a great candidate for the award.”

-Tim Pluta

“Mr. Lee never gives up on any student in his class. He is a constant source of support for his students. He also goes way out of his way to steer students into programs that go way beyond the grade he teaches, and sets them up for life long success. Over the past 6 years, a significant amount of the students that have been accepted into the Jordan PREP, STEM Program have come from his class. This program has taken some of them all the way from 6th grade to College admission. He believes in his students, he prepares his students, and he pushes his students. He is the teacher that they remember as the one who made a difference, and he has the collection of thank you cards that he keeps hidden away to prove it.”

“The students lucky enough to be part of his classroom, and taught the skills necessary to grapple with Middle School, High School, and become resilient adults. These are just a few of the reasons that his students love and respect him. They come back year after year to check in and let him know how they are doing.”

“Administrator know they can count on him for leadership and being a solid mentor for other teachers. Other teachers know they can count on him to help them in any way that he can. He doesn’t like accolades or a lot of attention. His total motivation is making the world a better place for students who really need it. More than once he has been the only positive adult role model in a students life, and he takes his role very seriously. The world could use many more teachers like Mr. Lee.”
