Summer of 2022 continues to shatter the record books in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY — The summer of 2022 continues to shatter the record books.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday marked the 26th day this summer that Salt Lake City has reached at least 100 degrees. Prior to this summer, the previous record of 21 times had been set three times, including last summer.
Tuesday also tied the warmest for the date, which was set in 1954.
The high temperature today so far at Salt Lake City has been 100°F, tying the record for the date originally set in 1954. This is the 26th day this year with a high temperature of 100°F or higher. #utwx

Additionally, the NWS also says Salt Lake City has had 55 days this summer where the high temperature was 95 degrees or higher.
Another data point to show that it’s been a hot summer in Salt Lake City: with today’s high of 98°F (at least so far), we’ve had a high temperature of 95°F or above 55 days this year, breaking the previous record of 54 set in 2013. #utwx

The NWS also says warm weather is expected for the remainder of the week. If you plan to go outdoors, you are encouraged to use caution and plan accordingly.
KSL weather is forecasting the next several days to be in the triple digits. And that will only add to the record books.
