Utah County Search and Rescue rescues woman with lower leg injury

UTAH COUNTY, Utah — A 48-year-old woman suffered a lower leg injury Friday afternoon during a sledding accident in Utah County.
Spencer Cannon, with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, says it took the search and rescue team about an hour and a half to complete the mission. He says the call came in at 2:16 p.m., and search and rescue were dispatched to the Alpine Cove area.
While Cannon says the lower leg injury was not life-threatening, the victim was transported to the hospital by LifeFlight.
“If they would’ve had to haul her out,” Cannon tells KSL NewsRadio. “It would have taken quite a bit of time. But they didn’t end up having to do that.”
Cannon says members of the search and rescue team began coming down off the mountain just before 5 p.m.
