U.K. trading memorandum

Cox and United Kingdom Trade Minister Nigel Huddleston signed a memorandum on Thursday to encourage cooperation in aerospace, life sciences and supply-chain resilience, among other areas.

Memorandum Of Understanding On Trade And Economic Cooperation

According to the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, more than 10,700 Utahns are employed by U.K. subsidiaries, and 38,330 Utah jobs are supported by exports to the United Kingdom.

In 2022, Utah sent $7 billion of exports went to the U.K. The U.K. is Utah’s largest trading partner in exports from Utah to the U.K.

The two signed memoranda do not create any legal obligation.

Cox said he looks forward to increased collaboration between Utah and the two countries.
