Fatal head-on collision on I-84 in Morgan County

MORGAN, Utah — Just after 7 on Saturday morning. a sedan traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 84 collided head-on with an eastbound semi-trailer. The sedan’s female driver died in the crash.

Authorities say an infant, also in the sedan, was safely removed from the vehicle by a deputy and transported to a hospital. The condition of the infant is unknown at this time.

The semi-trailer driver reportedly emerged unharmed.

Eastbound I-84 near mile marker 100 was closed. An ongoing investigations is being conducted by Utah Highway Patrol.

Troopers are investigating why the vehicle was on the wrong side of the road as well as the circumstances of the fatal head-on.
