Delta teacher charged with alleged rape of teenager

SALT LAKE CITY — A teacher from Delta Middle School is facing rape charges after police say she was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old.

Millard County deputies found out about the alleged abuse earlier this month, but said the accusations stem from a nude video sent on Snapchat and seen by the victim and the victim’s friends.

Investigators said the victim told them he had sex with the teacher near the end of the 2024 school year.

Police arrested Malori Nielson and booked her into the Millard County jail without bail.

David Styler, superintendent of the Millard School District, released this statement:

The Millard School District is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all students. Any misconduct toward students is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Upon receiving an allegation of potential misconduct involving a district employee, we took immediate action by notifying the Millard County Sheriff’s Office. The employee has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

We are fully cooperating with law enforcement and appreciate their thorough and professional handling of the matter. While the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide additional details. However, we want to reassure our community that we remain steadfast in our commitment to student safety and well-being.
