SALT LAKE CITY — A man and a woman were arrested Thursday night during an investigation into a shooting, according to the Farmington Police Department.
In a press release from the Farmington PD, police received reports of shots fired in the area of 1415 North and Main Street in Farmington.
Upon arrival, police said they found multiple shell casings in the street.
While securing the scene for investigation, a vehicle with a man and a woman inside pulled up to the officers, according to the press release.
The Farmington PD said the man had visible injuries to the head and body, while the woman had no visible injuries.
Police said the two were “uncooperative and noncompliant” when interacting with officers.
“The initial investigation suggests an altercation took place between the male and female, who were just traveling through the area together,” per press release.
The vehicle had visible damage to the exterior, suggesting the man was hit by the vehicle, according to police.
During the investigation, police said they found a handgun in the vehicle, as well as drugs and an open bottle of alcohol.
The Farmington PD said they were able to obtain surveillance footage where the sounds of gunshots are heard, followed by a vehicle leaving the area.
“The male and female were booked into the Davis County Correctional Facility on multiple charges related to this investigation,” per press release.
The investigation is still ongoing.
