SALT LAKE CITY — The Hatch Foundation announced Saturday night that Elaine Hatch, described as “the steady foundation, the quiet strength behind Senator (Orrin) Hatch’s decades of public service,” has died. She was 91.
Hatch was surrounded by family, the foundation said.
“Elaine was the consummate mother and grandmother of the Hatch family,” said Matt Sandgren, Executive Director of the Hatch Foundation. “Her life was defined by faith, service, and love for her family.”
Sandgren said Hatch served as her husband’s anchor as his public work took him across the country.
“As we grieve, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Orrin in the faith they both shared,” Sandgren said. “Our hearts are with the Hatch family as we honor the remarkable life she lived.”
