Woman takes serious head injury from assault in Davis County; SWAT searching for suspect, police say

SYRACUSE — A 26-year-old woman was significantly injured after she was assaulted by a man who police were still searching for on Wednesday morning, officers say.
At approximately 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, someone reported the assault near 2700 West and 3300 South in Syracuse, police said. When officers responded, the woman was found with injuries to the head and face.
The woman was taken to the hospital, police said.
Police were not immediately able to locate the suspect, but believed they had his location.
A SWAT team was attempting to make contact with the man still as of Wednesday morning. Syracuse police did not know for certain if he was armed.
