SALT LAKE CITY — People trying to use their cell phones in Weber County’s Upper Valley were struggling Wednesday afternoon after cell phone providers reported an outage affecting all users in the area.
In a Facebook post from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, published at approximately 6 p.m. on Wednesday, those currently in the Upper Valley” do not have cell phone service and are unable to receive or place calls or text messages.”
According to a statement from T-Mobile, “a third party fiber cut has caused intermittent service interruptions for a small number of people in the Ogden Valley/Eagle Mountain area.”
Similarly, AT&T said in a statement that they were “working to restore wireless service to affected customers in the Ogden Valley area following a fiber cut caused by a third party’s contractor.”
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said repairs could last through Thursday morning.
