‘I think I killed my mom’: Son arrested, accused of stabbing mother to death

OGDEN — A woman is dead after police say she was found with severe lacerations that appeared to be from a stabbing in Ogden on Thursday. The suspect was reportedly taken into custody.

The Ogden Police Department said police were dispatched to the area of 1400 South and Washington Boulevard just after 1 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.

Police documents said a female 911 caller yelled, “He has a knife,” but she wasn’t able to communicate after that. Then, the documents say a male voice got on the phone with dispatch and said, “I think I killed my mom.”

When police arrived, they found a 48-year-old woman with “severe lacerations to her neck.” She was taken to a hospital, but she died, police said.

On June 24, the victim was identified as Jennifer Martinez, age 48. She was the suspect’s mother.

According to a police press release, officers also found and detained a 25-year-old suspect who was still at the scene. Police documents later identified that man as Alec Conrad Martinez.
