PAYSON — A driver rolled their vehicle into hay bales Thursday morning, after experiencing a “medical issue,” according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

An X post from the Utah Department of Transportation said the crash happened on the northbound lane of Interstate 15 at mile marker 251.

Payson Fire Rescue said the driver partially rolled their vehicle into some hay bales at the bottom of an embankment.

Lt. Cam Roden with UHP believes the driver was experiencing a medical issue that caused them to drive off the road.

The driver was taken to Mountain View Hospital with minor to serious injuries.
