Police on the lookout for burglary suspect

SALT LAKE CITY — One person is in custody and another is still at large after police said a burglary suspect went from one jurisdiction to another on Sunday.
Sgt. Lucas Alfred with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the Iron County Sheriff’s Office reported to them that a suspected burglar was heading into their jurisdiction at 5 a.m.
According to Alfred, the Iron County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the alleged burglar, but the vehicle they were in crashed at exit 31 on southbound Interstate 15.
Alfred said one person was arrested at the scene, however a second person who was in the vehicle is still at large.
According to Alfred, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted with attempting to find the second person in the crashed vehicle.
Residents reported receiving the following Washington County Utah Citizen Alert:
“Officers in the Pintura area looking for a Hispanic or White male in his 20’s to 30’s, five foot 10 inches last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, and black/white vans. Male is possibly armed.”
Police are asking people not to approach the man if he is seen.
